Cascadia Liquor product policy is to offer an extensive range of quality wines, beers and spirits from the Pacific Northwest Region as well as interesting and unique products from around the world. This ensures broad appeal and selection to our customers.

With the Great Canadian Beer Festival coming up September 10th and 11th we decided to focus on one of our great local breweries. Howe Sound is located on the Sea to Sky highway in Squamish. The Brewery is actually part of a 20 room Inn, Pub and Restaurant. The original brewery that inspired Howe Sound was the Horseshoe Bay Brewery. Horseshoe Bay Brewery was started by John Mitchell in 1981 and was considered the first micro brewery in North America after Prohibition. Howe Sound hired John Mitchell as their brewmaster when they opened in 1996. John Mitchell is not making beer at the brewery now but they still honour him by calling their limited special releases the “John Mitchell Series”.
The brewery focuses on making unique high quality beers and has been recognized by the North American Beer Awards, Good Morning America, Global News, Globe and Mail, European and Asian Press.
A couple of favourites from Howe Sound are Three Beavers Red Ale and the Timberline Pale Ale. The Timberline has a smooth, slightly hoppy flavour with a light fruity nose. It is great paired with fried foods or spicier dishes. The Three Beavers Red Ale is a strong malty red ale. It has an aromatic cascade hop nose and would be a perfect match with meat, game and stronger flavoured dishes. For the summer, the Hefeweizen is excellent and look for the limited Pumpkin Ale in September.
All Cascadia locations carry a wide selection of Howe Sound product.

Certified Organic Winery on Saltspring Island
| Pinot Rosé 2009 | A second vintage, this is even more exciting than the first. It is another surprisingly dry rosé (French style) with rose petal hue. Aromas of strawberry with flavours of plum and honey. Tangy finish. Wonderful with turkey, strawberry and avocado salad, quiche or pasta. Serve slightly chilled. |
| Abbondante Bianco 2009 | Second vintage made from Estate grown, Certified Organic grapes. Flavours are very different from the first vintage. Exciting citrus, green apple, and orange peel overtones. Strong grapefruit nose and finish. Recommend pairing with non-spicy Chinese food, sweet and sour pork, lemon or orange chicken, pan fried sole with hollandaise/béarnaise sauce. Also delicious with crab, oysters, and asparagus. |

Left Coast Hemp Vodka |
Released in Spring 2010, Left Coast Hemp Vodka is distilled with the finest locally-grown organic hemp seed. The rich silky texture is elicited by the smooth oils of the hemp hearts. Notes of hazelnut and a hint of spice are present. The finish is long, clean and refreshing. |

Oaken Gin | They’ve taken Victoria Gin — a youthful, award winning spirit — and allowed it to mature gracefully in new French and American oak barrels until it is amber in colour and beautifully smooth. Behind the portrait of a more mature Queen Victoria is a spirit that’s softened with vanilla notes from the oak, full and buttery, with a caramel sweetness. |

Twisted & Bitter Aromatic Bitters |
Bitters have been used for centuries as a cooking ingredient and flavouring in drinks. While bitters aren’t technically a spirit, they are made with the help of their still. |
